Privacy policy

Last updated: 21 May 2026

Volora is built to be useful without surveillance. This policy explains what we collect (very little) and what we do not. Throughout this page, "we" means BlockFit OÜ, the legal operator of Volora — see the "Legal operator" section below.

01

Legal operator

Volora is a product operated by BlockFit OÜ, an Estonian private limited company, registry code 17131054 (https://blockfit.net/). BlockFit OÜ is the data controller for personal data processed through this site and the Volora app. For privacy requests — access, rectification, erasure, export — contact [email protected]. Volora is the product/brand; it is not a separate legal entity.

02

On this website

The free calculator runs entirely in your browser. The values you enter — distance, consumption, prices — and the computed results are not sent to a server, not stored, and not logged. The site is hosted on a static CDN, which may collect anonymized request metadata for security and performance. We use a privacy-first analytics tool described in the next section, and no advertising tags.

03

Anonymous analytics

Audience measurement is OFF until you explicitly accept it via the consent banner shown on your first visit. Until then, no analytics SDK is loaded and no audience event is sent — only the calculator's local computation and the static page itself run. If you reject the banner, the same applies for the whole session. Your choice is stored locally in your browser under the key `volora_analytics_consent`; you can change it at any time via the "Privacy settings" link in the footer.

When you accept, we use a privacy-friendly audience-measurement provider hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) to understand how visitors discover Volora and use the free calculator. Events are routed through BlockFit's first-party reverse proxy at r.blockfit.net for GDPR compliance and resilience against content blockers. The provider is configured for fully anonymous, cookieless measurement: we set no cookies, store nothing in your browser, and assign you no stable identifier. Unique visitors are counted via a privacy-preserving daily hash computed on the provider's servers from your IP and user agent; that hash rotates every 24 hours and never reaches us.

We capture a small, fixed list of events: page views (home, calculator), CTA clicks, language switches, calculator runs, newsletter form submissions, and newsletter signup outcomes. Each event carries a strict allow-list of properties — locale, page path, CTA location, the country and fuel type you selected in the calculator, a bucketed distance range (never the raw kilometre value), and a generic error type when a request fails. The provider also records campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) and the domain that referred you (no full URL — only the domain) when present, so we know which channels bring traffic.

The values you type in the free calculator are never sent as a user history. Newsletter signups and audience measurement live in separate systems: an event tells us a signup happened, but it is not linked to the email you submitted. You can block our audience measurement the same way as any third-party analytics — for example with a content blocker; the site continues to work.

04

Launch newsletter

If you sign up for the launch newsletter on this site, BlockFit OÜ — operator of Volora — stores your email address, the language you signed up in, the source page, the IP address you used, and the timestamp of your signup. The IP and timestamp are kept as proof of your consent under GDPR.

We use your email only to send you a short announcement when Volora launches. We don't sell it, share it, or use it for any other purpose. Newsletter signup records are deleted or anonymized within 90 days after the App Store launch, unless you ask us to delete them earlier or we must keep limited proof for a legal obligation.

To unsubscribe before launch, write to [email protected]. We will mark your record as unsubscribed and stop sending you anything. Once a self-serve unsubscribe page is available, every email will include a one-tap link.

05

In the mobile app

Volora is local-first. Your vehicles, prices and preferences live on your device by default. The app fetches country-level defaults (prices, CO₂ factors, source metadata) from a private API; those requests carry no personal data and no account is required to use the app.

06

Optional account

If you sign in — via Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time email link — Volora can back up your data to your account so you can restore it on another device. The account is opt-in: the app works fully without it.

Your synced data is held in your private account, used to back it up and restore it on your other devices. We don't sell your personal driving data and we don't share it with advertisers. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain.

You can sign out at any time. You can delete your account from the app; we schedule deletion immediately and permanently remove your synced data within 7 days. You can also export your account data: Account & Backup includes an "Export my data" button that produces a JSON archive you can share or save anywhere.

07

Aggregated insights

We may, in the future, publish, share, or license fully anonymized, aggregated statistics derived from app usage — for example, average savings or CO₂ avoided per country. This would never include raw trips, account data, email addresses, device identifiers, or any data that could identify you or your driving. It would only happen with your explicit opt-in: you would see a clear notice and a setting to turn it off at any time. As of the date above, no such aggregation is taking place.
